TAKE IT DOWN Act (United States)
Free template to request removal of non-consensual intimate images, including deepfakes, from US platforms under the TAKE IT DOWN Act
Overview
Use this request for platforms covered by the TAKE IT DOWN Act: public websites and apps that mainly host content posted by their users. Since 19 May 2026, a covered platform must remove a reported intimate image within 48 hours of a valid request and make reasonable efforts to remove known identical copies; the Federal Trade Commission enforces that duty. A valid request has your signature, the location of the material, a short good faith statement that it was not consensual, and your contact information. The template below contains all four.
If you are in danger or the images show someone under 18
If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services now. If the images show someone under 18, or were taken before they turned 18, report them to the NCMEC CyberTipline and use Take It Down; Adult Model Protection serves adults only. If you are struggling, in the US call or text 988 (988 Lifeline) or the CCRI Crisis Helpline; in the UK, the Revenge Porn Helpline. All of these are free.

Most sites are hosted by another company with its own abuse contact. A host is usually not the platform the Act addresses, so this version asks the host to act on its own abuse rules. Send this version to the host's abuse address, with the host's name in place of the site name in the greeting:
