Overview
Free templates to request removal of sexually explicit or intimate images made or shared without your consent, including AI-generated deepfakes
If you are in danger or the images show someone under 18
If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services now. If the images show someone under 18, or were taken before they turned 18, report them to the NCMEC CyberTipline and use Take It Down; Adult Model Protection serves adults only. If you are struggling, in the US call or text 988 (988 Lifeline) or the CCRI Crisis Helpline; in the UK, the Revenge Porn Helpline. All of these are free.
What these templates are for
These templates help you ask a website, host or search engine to remove sexually explicit or intimate images of you that were made or shared without your consent. That includes images made or altered with AI or other technical means to look like you (often called deepfakes).
They are different from the DMCA and EUCD templates. Those are copyright notices: they work when you own the content. A deepfake is usually not your own work, so a copyright notice is often the wrong tool. These templates rely on the laws for non-consensual intimate images instead.
Free to Use
These templates are provided free of charge. Adult Model Protection is not a law firm and is not liable for any outcome of their use. For legal advice about your situation, consult a lawyer.
Which template to use
| The site or host is | Use |
|---|---|
| A US platform that hosts content posted by its users | TAKE IT DOWN Act request |
| A service with links to the United Kingdom (many UK users, or aimed at the UK) | UK Online Safety Act report |
| A hosting service offered in the European Union | EU Digital Services Act notice |
| A search engine (Google, Bing or Yandex) | Search engine forms |
If you are not sure which fits, check the site's terms or legal page for its country. When the site does not respond, each template has a version for the site's host.
When a copyright notice does fit
If the fake was made from a photo or video you made yourself (for example your face or body taken from your own content), you may also own the copyright in that source material. In that case a DMCA notice or EUCD notice for the reused material can be sent as well.
Stop the images being shared again
If you are 18 or over and have a copy of the image on your own device, StopNCII.org lets you create a digital fingerprint (a hash) of it there. Participating platforms use the hash to detect and block the image. The image itself never leaves your device. You do this yourself; nobody else can do it for you. For images taken before you were 18, use Take It Down instead.
Before you send
- Collect the exact page URLs. One URL per page that shows the images, not the homepage.
- Do not attach the images. The URLs are enough. Never send copies of the images to anyone.
- Use a separate email address if you prefer not to share your personal address with the site.
- Keep a record: the date you sent each request, who you sent it to and any reference number you get back.
